I reckon it started when the new plastic UK notes were introduced with an actual coronavirus logo on them eh! and then like official advice to pay by contactless to avoid handling deadly virus-carrying banknotes eh!
but months ago most of the self serve machines stopped accepting cash, been to cash machines in several places on several occasions and they were out of service, tonight tried to use cash machine, out of service, bloke walks up and says “not working again?” so…
They have actually done it in Nigeria… gone pretty much cashless, announced, but like citizens in Nigeria are storm in a tea-cup easy put down by more brutal forces, which is destiny of all us serfs on earth eh! Whilst brutal humans are quite easy to recruit, brutal robots once affordable even better eh!
Well, the Spartacus conundrum, better to die in a revolt or die as a serf??? How close the peasants revolt came to “success” (well an unknown outcome really if they had succeeded) all by a barrel of beer and an opportunistic murderer with the cover story of loyal “lord-mayor” servant of the King eh!
postscript: yeah, cash machine worked in this supermarket but real human checkout just closed and all self-serve machines were card only! OK, baccy and gambling counter was still accepting cash.
