E58 Pocket Drone – A Nice Toy!

If you want a drone to play around with, to understand it’s flight dynamics, this is a nice cheap one, about £45 from eu.bangood.com (though one of the micro drones is probably actually the best start to get the hang of dynamics, vertical acceleration is quite quick and can go out of control quite quick)

Do not try to fly it outside when there is anything like a even a light wind (unless you have a lot of space), as the drone itself is very light, but on a still day or inside with a bit of space it is quite controllable.

I think the folding props also help it survive crash damage and do no damage to things props hit, had my fingers in the blades and it did sting a bit but no blood drawn.

  1. power on drone
  2. power on controller and pair (doing this means controller is primary controller and the trim buttons work)
  3. connect mobile phone to the wifi network
  4. start up the jy-ufo app for fpv display
  5. use the record video button on the jy-ufo app to take videos (this is because I think the drone sends footage to your mobile phone then uses mobile phone to compress the video to mp4 and then sends that back to the drone, the video/photo record stuff seems a bit tempremental)
  6. Don’t try to fly it by just mobile phone (didnt work for me on my old mobile phone, may work better with a more recent phone)
